On 26th Jan. 2011, the 62nd Republic Day was celebrated in the Vidyalaya in a befitting manner with all patriotic spirit and fervour by the entire school community. The day began with regular prayer at 8:30 am and to keep alive the spirit of Nationality, house wise patriotic Group Dance competition was held. Four superb dances on patriotism were performed by the students and the result was declared immediately. The theme of Narmada house (1st prize winner) was Unity in Diversity and that of Yamuna (2nd position) was Fusion of Culture.
The Republic Day function started exactly at 10:15 am with the arrival of the Chief Guest Shri P. Mishra GM, OFDR and Chairman VMC, Shrimati Pusphpika Mishra, President, WWA and Guest of Honour of the special day with other esteemed officers. They were given a hearty welcome with guard of honour by the scouts and guides and honoured by presenting of the tricolored badges to mark the importance of the day. This was followed by flag hoisting and National Anthem. After a warm floral welcome to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, the school choir rendered a classic welcome song. A spectacular feast of cultural show was presented by the students of Primary and Secondary with sundry items that were informative, theme oriented, some thrilling and sensational. The audience were enraptured and enamoured by the multifaceted talents of our learners. Then it was time for our Principal Shri H.K. Ganjoo for “Abhinandan” felicitation of the Chief Guest Shri .P. Mishra on the dual award winning from the Defence Ministry. Best Ordnance Factory-Group Category, Best Innovation –Individual Category and thank the Ordnance Factory for their support and Cooperation during Two KVS National Events.This was followed by the long awaited Prize distribution ceremony which was awesome. Principal also made an open promise and commitment about qualitative and quantitive academic results in this session. This was followed by wonderful words of appreciation and encouragement and heartfull blessings for all success by our Chief Guest.
The tiny tots were made happy to receive chocolates from the hands of our Guest of Honour. Following Vote of thanks by our Vice Principal, the programme was wound up with a good spirit of earnest patriotism by singing “Vande Mataram”.
Then the gathering dispersed in a disciplined way with a happy mood & guests joined school staff for refreshments.
